Bronx Intersections Competition

Our competition entry is for Bronx Grand Concourse, a Bronx roadway designed to reflect the grand boulevard of Paris France's Champs Elysees. Today the Concourse is devoid of commercial ammenities and food is purchased from street vendors with cardboard box stands. Our project intends to establish greater intersection of people in proposing street storage and vending equipment similar to Parisian streets. Our project takes advantage of the the fact that New York's food is mostly supplied by the nearby Bronx Hunts Point Market. Our Frog vending design is an entertaining suggestion of how storage and vending equipment could share space with the tree lined streets of the Bronx Tree museum.
Our proposal also includes another trait of Paris which is the older streets which the Champs Elysees cuts through. The old streets of Paris often occuring at non perpendicular angles are encouraged as a possibility for the future planning of the Bronx Museum of the Arts. Our proposal emphasizes BRONX INTERSECTIONS proposing a diagonal connection connecting Carrol Place with the 165th St. Concourse intersection. This connection with the INTERSECTION will replace portions of the existing museum that is planned for demolition.
